ECO-CULTURAL ACTIVITIES & TOURS WITH LOCALS NEW DELHI REGION & BEYOND

In addition to responsibly running an ECO-CULTURAL B&B HOMESTAY for WOMEN & SENIOR COUPLES, conveniently situated in a green zone fairly close to New Delhi airports, and arranging safe airport transfers, I also organize cultural & green activities in the neighbourhood for our homestay guests, and day trips to off-beat destinations in Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, while not altogether excluding regular tourist attractions of the Golden Triangle Tour etc.

This local travel can be extended to our non-homestay guests, too, each tour/activity being tailored to suit the tastes and pace of a group of women and/or seniors. The intention is to avoid the kind of culture shock that leaves jet-setting tourists emotionally drained, and replace it with cultural immersion which is a gradual, pleasurable and enriching process for a foreigner visitor to India. Participants of our programmes are encouraged and enabled to respect and connect with the culture, heritage, habitat and economy of communities that live and work en route. Responsible Tourism entails a mutually-beneficial experience for tourists and local communities alike.

By staying at our B&B Homestay and/or participating in our local tours and activities, guests find plenty of opportunities for life-changing/unique experiences: engagement with locals, celebration of a local festival with folk dance and song, or a cultural event, cycle tours in the delightful countryside or in an architecturally interesting part of a town, nature walks, village tours, a night under the stars, a fun-filled day at a farm or in an adventure zone, splashing about and sliding around in a water park, bird-watching or tiger-tracking in a nature reserve, shopping in colourful bazaars, observing artisans at work and buying souvenirs from them, practising yoga & meditation, savouring regional cuisines made with local, organic ingredients, sipping herbal teas, participating in street entertainment and exercise, finding a nature cure in hot sulphur springs, strolling through an open-air terracotta museum, riding a camel or an elephant, skating on ice (not recommended for seniors!), relaxing in a spa, meditating on the ceaseless chatter of squirrels and birds in our garden, jogging in the park, engaging in conversations/exchange of views with locals (after learning a few Hindi words and phrases) including with knowledgeable, well-educated and widely-traveled Indian hosts who, while helping their guests understand certain regional Indian cultures and customs, go the extra mile to make their stay and travel a de-stressing, enriching, multi-sensorial and responsible experience.
