Environmental Information System

ENVIS is the ministry of the Indian Government that provides Environmental information to professionals such as scientists, engineers, policymakers and researchers. The Environmental Information System has functioned since 1983 to protect the Environment and to develop environmental management systems and procedures.

Our long-term objectives include supporting and promoting research, development and innovation in the field of environmental information technology. We also strive to build cooperation with other countries as we move toward global conservation efforts, and also to assist developing countries by sharing information and resources.

ENVIS is involved with a variety of educational programs and workshops to promote health, safety, and environmental advocacy to children and adults.
